A Little History
Los Lobos first major release was 1984's T-Bone Burnett They followed up with By the Light of the Moon in 1987. 1987 also saw the group provide tracks for the film La Bamba, In 1988 they released La Pistola y El Corazón In the late 1980s and through the 1990s the band toured throughout the world. In 1992 Los Lobos put out the creative and experimental Kiko. On the band's twenty-year anniversary they released a two-CD collection entitled Just Another Band from East L.A.
In 1995, Los Lobos released the bestselling record Papa's Dream. In 1996 they released Colossal Head. Moving on to 1999, the band released This Time. The music conglomerate Rhino/Warner in 2000 released the Cancionero: Mas y Mas boxed set.
Los Lobos are three time Grammy winners. They won Best Pop Instrumental Performance, for "Mariachi Suite" from the Desperado movie sound track. They also won Best Mexican-American Performance in 1983 and 1989 for the albums Anselma and La Pistola y El Corazon.
